There is a strong beer culture in Slovakia that the Czech Republic is famous for its beer but as part of the former Czech Slovakia, Slovakia has a lot of quality beer to offer, especially in the small and traditional breweries.
And these are the breweries that Experience Slovakia will take you to if you opt to take the tour ‘Beer Tasting and Beer Spa’ with us. We will take you to local breweries in the Saris and Spis area, as well as in the High Tatras. You will finish your trip having a lovely beer spa, which I am sure beer lovers will enjoy it very much!
We cannot talk about beer without talking about food. To be honest I would have to write a whole new blog just about food in Slovakia. So I will try to mention just the dishes that would go really well with beer.
Klobasa - a special sausage spiced with paprika, garlic and caraway, either roasted or grilled. You can also find it ‘udena’ or smoked klobasa.
Pecene Rebra - grilled pork ribs which are more savoury than sweet and quite hearty.
Brasowve Koleno - pork knees are very popular and a quite unique dish in Slovakia and also in the Czech Republic. It is very tender and tasty and although some people would argue if this is to throw away, once you have tried it, you will definitely try it again and again!
Goulash - One of the most famous dishes here in Easter Slovakia. A good goulash party always come with a few hours cooking goulash and a lot of beer. It can be made with venison, pork, beef, a lot of secret spices, potatoes, onions. It is the winner in my opinion!
Do not leave Slovakia without trying its beer and delicious food.
I still need to write a lot about food and drinks in Slovakia, there is Tokaj wine, homemade spirits, homemade dumplings and cabbage soup! Actually, in Slovakia, you can find so many types of soups. A meal here will not necessarily serve a dessert, but it is mandatory to come with soup and main dish.
